Welcome to the Peer Dialog research study website ("the Site"). By accessing or submitting content through this Site, you agree to the following Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree, do not participate.

1. Purpose of This Study

This project conducts private, non-commercial research into digital communication patterns using a combination of qualitative review, computational methods, and machine-assisted analysis techniques.

Your participation is voluntary.

2. Eligibility

To participate, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Reside in one of the eligible regions listed on the landing page

  • Have the legal right to submit and anonymize the content you provide

  • Not be prohibited from entering prize drawings under applicable law

3. User Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • You will fully anonymize all submitted content (names, phone numbers, emails, URLs, images, usernames, etc.)

  • You will submit only content you have the right to share

  • You will not upload illegal, harmful, or explicit material

  • You will not upload content that is intentionally misleading, fabricated, or generated by automated systems unless explicitly requested

You are solely responsible for the content you upload.

4. License You Grant to Us

By submitting any anonymized content, you affirm that:

  1. Authenticity & Integrity

The content is correct and not in any way fraudulent, synthetic, spam, spyware, malware, invasive, harmful, or malicious.

  2. Rights to Submit

The content is your own data, or you otherwise have the legal right to access it and to share it with us for the uses described in these Terms.

  3. Anonymization

You have removed all personal information and identifiers prior to submission.

  4. Processing & Deidentification

You understand and agree that the content you submit may be collected, processed, and deidentified.

After deidentification, the original identifiable data may be promptly deleted.

Deidentified information may be used by us or other parties as described below.

License Grant

By submitting anonymized content, you grant the research organizers a perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to:

  1. Use & Process

    • Use, reproduce, adapt, transform, analyze, or process the content.

    • Apply computational, statistical, automated, or machine-assisted techniques to derive patterns, models, or insights.

  2. Create Derivative Works

    Including but not limited to:

    • datasets

    • aggregated datasets

    • embeddings

    • models

    • classifiers

    • features, representations, or parameters

    • analytical tools

    • metrics, indices, or derived assets

  3. Integrate Into Products & Research

    • Incorporate the content or derivative outputs into present or future research, products, or systems.

    • Use the content or derivatives in internal or external research, evaluation, academic work, or model development.

  4. Share, Transfer, or Commercialize Derivatives

    • Distribute, publish, or share aggregated or derivative outputs (never raw submissions).

    • Sell, license, or otherwise provide derivative outputs (such as trained models, embeddings, or aggregated datasets) to third parties.

  5. Long-Term Storage

    • Store the content or derivatives for long-term research or developmental value.

Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you submit. However, you grant us the above rights to use, transform, and build upon your anonymized submission indefinitely and without restriction, consistent with these Terms.

5. No Attribution & No Personal Data

All submissions must be anonymized. We do not attribute submissions to individuals, and we do not request personal information.

6. Prize Draw Rules

If you choose to participate in a prize draw:

  • Participation is free

  • Entry mechanics, limits, and prize details are described on the landing page

  • Odds depend on total entries received

  • Winners are selected by random draw

Submitting content does not guarantee a prize.

Prize availability is contingent on receiving a sufficient number of valid anonymized submissions. If this minimum participation requirement is not met, the giveaway may be canceled without awarding prizes.

7. Withdrawal & Deletion

You may request deletion of your raw submission(s) by emailing [email protected].

However:

Deletion requests do not apply to any already-created:

  • derived datasets

  • embeddings

  • models

  • analytical outputs

  • aggregated reports

  • tools or systems built using your data

This is standard in computational research.

8. Site Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may modify or discontinue the Site at any time.

9. Disclaimer

This project is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for delays, data loss, technical issues, or misuse of the site by users.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the organizers disclaim liability for:

  • Damages arising from participation

  • Third-party interactions

  • User anonymization errors

  • Delays in communication or prize delivery

Your sole remedy is to discontinue participation.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (USA), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If required by applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence, certain rights may additionally apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Revised versions will include a new effective date.
